(And find yourself far more confident with drawing - even if you think you can't draw now 😉)

2 Methods for Painting Roses

Discover 2 different ways to paint loose expressive roses.

The problem with many watercolor tutorials is that they make painting look either too easy or too hard. You might feel frustrated trying to paint delicate, flowing roses only to end up with stiff, unnatural results.

Learn two different approaches to creating beautiful rose paintings in a loose and expressive style—without the stress!

Paint a Whole Series of Roses

We'll paint together, step by step to create two different paintings using the two different methods.

But there is no need to stop there!

Armed with these new techniques AND a library of carefully selected reference images, you'll be itching to create a whole series of your own rose paintings.

FAQs

What supplies do I need?

I always recommend that you use what you already have. There is no need to use exactly the same supplies or colours as I am using.

I always include details of exactly what I use in each lesson but the broad basics include:

  • 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper either loose sheets, pads or sketchbooks - whatever you like best or have to hand
  • a large round watercolour brush, and possibly a rigger (although even that is very much optional)
  • watercolour paints
  • a sketchbook or just loose sheets of copier paper and a pencil for sketching

How long do I have access to the course materials?

When you purchase the Standalone Edition of Roses in Watercolour you will have instant and ongoing access to the materials.
